Spelling Bee Contest 2010

MSB has been participating in ‘The National Spelling Bee Competition’ organized by Dawn since the year 2005, when Dawn initiated this competition. To help prepare the students for this contest, the Upper Primary and Secondary Section had introduced a Spelling Bee Club wherein students with the librarian’s assistance have been actively involved since last year. Along with this, each class refers to the Dawn spell list for their Dictation and Vocabulary exams since the last three years.
This year too, MSB was represented by three groups belonging to three age levels on the 6th Spelling Bee. The students were:

9-11 age level: Khadija M Mohsin Pishori – ClassVI Murtaza Dr.Turab Pishori- Class VI Ruqaiya Shabbir Amreliwalla- Class VII

12-14 age level: Fatema Khuzema Lilyawala – Class VIII Zainab Khuzema Mandasorewalla – Class IX Ruqaiaya Badruddin Jetpurwalla – Class IX

15-17 age level Zainulabedeen Abbas Babrawalla – Class XI Zainab M Shabbir St Mary – Class XI Fatema Hussain Nicobarwala – Class XI

In order to help motivate and practice for this year’s participation, MSB, Upper Primary and Secondary had also arranged an Educational Activity on the same format as the Dawn Spelling Bee., on 20th September 2010, so that a rehearsal would prepare them for the Finals.
