Alumni Counselling Session
21 April 2011
A Career Counseling Session was conducted by Ex-Students of MSB on 21st April 2011 for the students of class 8. Murtaza Kanchwala, SHabbir Hazari, Mehlum Sadriwala, Huzefa Lamuwala and Umme Salama Saifuddin of the 2005 batch prepared a presentation to motivate the current students for their future academic life and to give them guidelines for choosing the subjects which interest them.
The one hour session also touched upon the advantages of MSB and the holistic nurturing environment that students receive here, which they appreciate more when they graduate from the sheltered life here. The speakers also gave insight into the kind of issues a young student is faced with when going to college and university. They discussed how holding fast to your Fatemi values and culture gives you the strength to take on challenges of the outside world.
Class 8 students were very motivated by the informal style of the speakers and asked them questions regarding the decisions they were expected to make about their future.
Al Masool, Shk Ammar Bhai lauded their efforts and on behalf of the Upper Primary and Secondary section, presented the speakers with a token and a Letter of Appreciation for taking the commendable initiative of counseling their junior colleagues and contributing to the progress of their Alma Mater.
A student of class 8 commented after the session, which was the unanimous opinion of their entire class, “After the session we were energized. Everyone was extremely inspired, our minds started to think of new ideas! It was all fantastic, the way they described us and their life at MSB. They made us feel proud to be MSBians. Whatever they told us hit our hearts, their words were powerful and we would love to have another session like this!”
