The Annual Sports Day, 2020 at Al- Nadil Burhani
Relishing the brilliance of the weather, the gaiety of the ambience, premised strategically around the grandeur of Al-Nadil Burhani (Queens Road), like the pigeons of Anwar chirping in the garden of Daawat-e-Fatimi, there was nothing else left to be desired than to witness and celebrate each chapter of the sporting event that indeed unfolded beautifully.
The much awaited Annual Sports Meet 2020 was held on Saturday 22nd February 2020, with great zeal, excitement and frolicsome atmosphere. The programme began with the welcoming of the esteemed the chief guest, Al Hadul Anjabaul Asad Janab Juzer Bhai Saheb Zakavi. Janab Amil Saheb was paid respects by the salute of the impressive March Past of the students, coupled with some stirring marching music by the band. This particular event in our academic calendar remains to be one of the most anticipated events of the year for its evident liveliness and verve.
The students entered into the spirit of the occasion in a grand way with the oath being administered by the Head Boy. An energizing equestrian display of the Torch Illumination set the tone for the rest of the event. The students of class 4 and 5 exhibited a PT display mesmerizing the audience with their energetic performances. Once the races began, the air was filled with cheering and tons of encouragement for the young athletes.
Students of classes 4 to 11 competed in events including sprints, relays, sack race, obstacle race and balancing race. Fun time with a tug- of- war between the houses and eventually between the teachers and the winning house added to the enjoyment. The event ended on a perfect day with a much needed acknowledgement for all those who made this day a possibility.
The House Trophy was awarded to the Red house commending their phenomenal performance throughout all the sports events.
It was a massive event, with some fantastic runners involved, but our children were not overawed. They all showed great determination and team spirit, cheering each other on and running to the best of their abilities on a very sturdy course. The children were a credit to the Institute with their behaviour throughout the day.
