Earth Day Celebration In The Primary

 Earth Day is a good time to make a commitment to learning more about the environment and how we can help to protect it. Anything to help enhance our environment is a perfect thing to do on Earth Day and every day. Bearing in mind  the directives of  Aqa Moula (T.U.S.) on saving the environment the primary section celebrated earth day  in every possible way. The attire for the day was adorning earth colours therefore the school environment was a kaleidoscope of blues, greens and browns with earth day badges and head bands with slogans. The school environment also displayed slogans and instructions regarding keeping the environment healthy.

The students began their day with tilawat ud Dua which commenced with the  recitation of suratul Zilzal.The students were then briefed about the importance of earth day through an informative  PowerPoint presentation which was followed by a skit performed by class one’s and two’s on the issues of how to  save mother earth.

The students then dispersed into their classes and the activities all through the day connoted the importance of the 3R’s and were all environmental friendly.

Class I –Decorated brown paper bags with slogans of using and recycling paper bags.

                  Cleaning of classrooms, staffroom, ground floor and the 1st floor by sweeping and dusting .

Class II – Cleaning of classrooms, the school ground and the 2nd floor by sweeping and dusting

                        Watering plants on their floor.

                         Creating  messages regarding earth day which were displayed outside their classrooms.

Class III- made objects by recycling material and cleaning of classrooms

Class IV- made jars from plastic bottles using recycled materials, they planted money plants and gifted them to the members of staff .

The students of class IV also watered the plants around the entire school premises and the park

The day ended with the students strutting out of the school gate exchanging ideas through what they learnt today, each student a bearer of a  healthy message “OUR ENVIRONMENT IS PRECIOUS AND  EVERY DAY IS EARTH DAY!
