MSB  takes pride, to state,  that as part of Taabudaat Amal and celebration of Aqa  Maula’s 99th  Milaad Mubarak , we had organized a Unique and first of its kind “Mathematics Supermarket” on Thursday, 25th of March,  2010 in our school.

         The activity provided students with excellent and practical opportunities to view apply and practice Mathematics creatively.

          A collection of games and activities with Mathematical concepts had been devised by students themselves, to gain a deeper insight of the basic operations, above and beyond contextual learning..
Delicious and nutritious food stalls enhanced students appetite and business skills.

Objective:

1.  Mathematic skills in practice.
2   Developing business tactics.
3. Analyzing reasons for profit or loss.
4.  Application and Implementation of Mathematic skills.
5   Creation of games.

Grouping:

Classes 5 and 6 =19 Groups                      Classes 7 and 8 = 18 Groups

Nature of stalls:   
    
Games and Food Stalls
15 Game Stalls and 4 Food stalls by classes V and VI
13 Game Stalls and 5 Food stalls by classes V and VI

All 1 and 5 will visit at 9.30 – 10.30
All 3 and 6 = 10.30 - 11.30
All 2 and 4 = 11.30 – 12.30
Class IV = 3rd and 4th period

Result

Each Group had to fill the Record Sheet mentioning expenses, sponsors and profit/loss.

Reflection

It was learning with fun for students. They experienced real Business with Profit and Loss.
They learnt how to help others and share by compensating the losses the other groups had faced. It was a joy to see student’s creative abilities
 
Inshallah it is our Neeyat that with the profit achieved we will purchase some resources for MSB Library.
